1. Where does creativity come from?
In my opinion, the word creativity has the word “create” in it which means to bring something new, something that doesn’t already exist. A lot of people have difficulties when we are supposed to come up with something original (creative). To be creative you need to have life experiences have the ability to think outside the box. Creativity and experience are needed for you to create something original. You also need to be confident in your thoughts and allow yourself to have ideas and thoughts without judgement from yourself as well as others.
2. Is “Ice Ice Baby” a rip-off of “Under Pressure”? Or did Vanilla Ice Remix an existing bass line to create something original?
I think that Vanilla Ice remixed an existing bass line to create something original from a video that displayed a corporate image of males overpowering the alternative lifestyle. “Ice Ice Baby” displayed creativity through street artists demonstrating a nonstandard lifestyle. Even though “Under Pressure” was released October 26 1981 and “Ice Ice Baby” was released July 2, 1990, they are two different genres with different messages, therefore, making them both originals.
