Audience Response

I enjoyed listening to the Serial podcast. There are experiences I have had which directly influenced how I reacted when listening to the Serial podcast. I have personally never gone through what the families of Adnan and Hae went through, I think maybe that is the reason I can enjoy the podcast from not having a personal relation/experience that Adnan and Hae’s families went through. On the other hand, if someone had gone through any kind of experience similar to Adnan and Hae’s families it would be impossible to enjoy a podcast considering the subject. I feel as if someone with personal relations to the story of the podcast would not enjoy it because it may feel as if they are reliving the experience from their past.

Another reason I think I enjoy this type of podcast is that I’ve grown up with access to many different genres of movies and shows. I have an interest in this specific genre and have enjoyed listening to things that other people might have gone through or are going through to have a better understanding of what life can be like for others around me.

I generally tend to enjoy watching and listening to the murder mystery/crime genre, therefore this type of podcast appeals to me. Not everyone feels the same way about this genre though. Some may find this podcast unsettling because of the genre and what the podcast itself is about which can be because of their personal experiences. This specific genre is not for everyone.
